Where did your name come from?
I was named for both my grandmothers. My maternal grandmother’s middle name was Erin and it turned out to be very important.
My great-grandfather was extremely proud of his Irish roots. Erin clearly had a very special significance for his only daughter. Being my parents’ second daughter/child and my grandparents’ second grandchild, it has always been an honor to carry it.
Born in the bayou not far from the Texas border, I'm the daughter of two parents who grew up in incredibly small towns in southwest Louisiana. Transplanted to East Tennessee at the age of 12, my roots are strongly planted in the soggy grounds of Cajun country. By that point, the Cajun "renaissance" started. A natural redhead, I've learned that like many traits of those of northern European descent, several recessive traits (which I plan to explore in this blog) are prominent among the Cajuns.
