Launched in 2020, the Cajun Redhead is the blog I’ve dreamed of starting for years. It’s a site that is a collection of posts that discuss not only current issues, but offer a variety of tips on health, wellness, and overall survival in this new quarantine world. I also want to share my own experiences, which I hope you will find beneficial.
With a background in both journalism and medical billing, I want to share what I’ve learned on the nitty gritty side of medical billing, health, and shed light on the darkness of what has become a nightmare for others. As a single mom, I’m not just another “mommy blogger” trying to sell you something using a blog as a side hustle.
If you love a Cajun girl, raise your glass; if you don’t, raise your standards.
You can take the girl out of Louisiana, but you can’t take the Louisiana out of the girl.
Never underestimate a backwoods Cajun in a fight, old man.
Sherrilyn Kenyon
Born in the bayou not far from the Texas border, I’m the daughter of two parents who grew up in incredibly small towns in southwest Louisiana. Transplanted to East Tennessee at the age of 12, my roots are strongly planted in the soggy grounds of Cajun country. By that point, the Cajun “renaissance” started. A natural redhead, I’ve learned that like many traits of those of northern European descent, several recessive traits (which I plan to explore in this blog) are prominent among the Cajuns.
