Let the Good Times Roll In August (Do What?)

When I came up with the idea of this blog, it was going to be this nice little blog about being Cajun (and a redhead duh). I was going to stuff down stereotypes and offer cute little recipes, travel tips about Louisiana, and some historic notes. I even wanted to talk about Mardi Gras traditions outside of New Orleans.

Let’s all laugh and then take a deep breath (inside our nicely air conditioned homes without a mask on) please.

So, 2020 has been fun so far hasn’t it?

We know how Mardi Gras 2020 went down.

I know I shouldn’t joke about the fact that people died. It’s not funny. My own grandparents contracted (and thankfully recovered from) COVID-19. They live in an assisted living facility in southwest Louisiana. They’ve literally been shut in since mid-March.

For me, a lot has changed not just since March, but since the beginning of the year. And I want this blog to reflect it. I’m a redheaded Cajun girl. This is my blog. Who says I can’t write whatever the He** I want?
